A Poem for the New Year
Cocooned in the silk of memory
the old year winds itself away
The lights go out
turn on again
we wake to find ourselves
New
opening a different
Pandora’s box
Out of which fly
Joy, dreams fulfilled, love renewed,
the twenty-league boots
of hope
wearing which
we stride into wonderland...
